- A person trained in First Aid Responder (FAR) was not available to the children at all times. The staff roster evidenced that there was no person available to the children with the required FAR training between 17:15 and 18:00 on the day of inspection. This posed a risk to the care, safety and welfare of children in the event of an emergency
Provider's corrective action:
- An additional staff member has successfully completed a FAR training and is rostered onsite daily, including during closing times to ensure compliance. Management will ensure that there is always at least one FAR certified staff member on the premises at all times

- (1) There was no person with a recognised first aid training certificate rostered to work between 12:00 and 12:15
Provider's corrective action:
- (1) The person with a recognised first aid training certificate is rostered to work until 12.30 every day. On the day of the inspection, she had an important appointment at 12.15 as this was the only time she could get. The service will ensure that this staff member makes any appointments in future after 12.15

- There was no evidence of an adult trained in First Aid Responder available to the children at all times as required. It is acknowledged that a number of staff members had Paediatric First Aid training certification
Provider's corrective action:
- (1) At present all staff are completing / completed the FAR or paediatric first aid, please see invoice from May when all training was booked in the hope it was to be completed within the month to ensure all training was in date. Reminders to be put in place three months and 6 months in advance

- (1) It is acknowledged that five staff members had certificates in first aid training for children dated 2023 and 2024. However, only one of the adults had the required First Aid Responder training certificate and this person was absent on the day of the inspection
Provider's corrective action:
- Two staff members have been registered to attend First Aid Responder training in March 2025. The service will make sure that if trained staff are leaving in future other staff will be trained beforehand

- (1) There was no adult present on the day of inspection who held a First Aid Responder training certificate. This posed a risk to the safety of the children if first aid was required. An Immediate Action Notice was issued to the registered provider under regulation 23 – Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child in relation to this non- compliance.
