- (1) While it is acknowledged that three staff members were due to attend first aid training to the level of a first responder in the coming week, on the day of the inspection the training certificates had expired
Provider's corrective action:
- The registered provider stated that the staff attended training following the inspection and a list of renewal dates have been posted to prevent a reoccurrence in the future. Staff have been requested to add a training reminder date to their personal calendar’s also

- (1) Though discussion with staff it was established that three staff have previous first aid training however this was not up to date
Provider's corrective action:
- The registered provider stated that they have completed a first aid responder course and that going forward additional staff will complete the training

Waterford Montessori, Waterford City · Regulation 25 — First aid
- (1) The registered provider did not ensure that a person trained in first aid was available to the children at all times. Two staff members' first aid training had expired
Provider's corrective action:
- The registered provider stated that First Aid training has been booked and will be completed over a three day period in May 2025. Alert reminders have been added to the staff calendars to ensure that First Aid training is kept up to date in the future

Play Together Creche, Waterford City · Regulation 25 — First aid
- (1) The registered provider did not ensure that a person trained in first aid would be immediately available to the children. On the day of the inspection, there was no person trained in first aid rostered to work from 17:00 to 17:30 or to cover breaks throughout the week beginning the 3rd of February 2025
Provider's corrective action:
- (1) An immediate action notice was issued to the registered provider on the 6th of February regarding non- compliances identified under this regulation. The registered provider submitted a response to the office of the Early Years Inspectorate on the 7th of February to demonstrate the actions taken to correct the non-compliances immediately. The actions submitted stated that the roster has been amended to ensure that a first aid qualified staff member is on the premises at all times. The registered provider has also stated that there is a long-term plan for staff training
