10 March 2026

(1) A staff member present trained in in first aid response (FAR) and immediately available to the children attending the service was not present on the day of the inspection. It is acknowledged that staff members trained in paediatric first aid were working on the day of the inspection

Provider's corrective action:

(1) Another fulltime member of staff has since completed FAR training to ensure cover in place at all times in case a staff member has to be absent due to unforeseen circumstances. A fulltime staff member has completed FAR in full on Thursday 02/04/26

4 February 2026

(a) The first aid equipment was not stored in a conspicuous position in the care room in the service. (b) A suitably equipped first aid box for children was not available to the adults caring for the children attending the service as there were no bandages and paramedic shears available

Provider's corrective action:

(a) The box was removed from its original place at the time of the construction works of the second toilet and is now being attached to a new designed place with the correct sign to be accessible to the staff. The manager will conduct monthly first aid check to ensure the first aid box is stored in its place. (b) A new first aid box was bought and checked with check list to ensure it has all the required equipment including bandages and paramedic shears. The manager will check the first aid box monthly to ensure the box contained all required equipment and has been restocked where necessary

9 September 2025

(1) There were no staff members present trained in in first aid response (FAR) and immediately available to the children attending the service. A written immediate action notice under Regulation 23 – Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child was issued to the person in charge onsite by the Early Years Inspector on 9 September 2025

Provider's corrective action:

• Successfully completed the full FAR course on Wednesday 1 st October, thereby restoring compliance with Regulation 25(1) of the Child Care Act 1991 (Early Years Services) Regulations 2016, which requires at least one person with FAR training to always be available. A Training Compliance Tracker has been introduced to monitor all staff training and certification, with a specific focus on expiry dates for FAR, Children First, Fire Safety, and Manual Handling. • Automated reminders are now set up (via calendar/email alerts) to notify management at least 3 months in advance of any expiring training requirements. • All mandatory training will be booked well in advance to ensure uninterrupted compliance with Tusla's regulatory requirements. • A nominated staff member has been assigned the responsibility of reviewing training records and ensuring all documentation is current and accessible for inspection

(1) While it is acknowledged there are staff trained in first aid response (FAR), there was no person with FAR training on the premises between 8:00am – 9:00am daily and immediately available to the children on the day of inspection as observed by the staff roster

Provider's corrective action:

(1) Two staff members are booked to do first aid response (FAR) training. This will ensure that are staff trained in first aid response (FAR) available to the children at all times
