Provider's corrective action:
  • The registered provider has bought eye pads and returned them to the first aid box. The registered provider has completed a first aid checklist where management will check contents of the box and record on a monthly basis. The first aid checklist will be used to identify what needs replaced

Provider's corrective action:
  • The two items have been removed from the first aid box. All items in box were checked for quantity and expiry dates. This non-compliance was discussed at the recent staff meeting. The staff were reminded that they must keep any medications or creams that are for their own use, stored safely in their bags, hung out in the entrance hall and cannot be brought into the room or left in the first aid box

  • First aid boxes have now been updated and restocked in both preschool rooms. Medication, sun creams and other creams are now stored in a separate box. Ensure all staff are aware of items not being mixed and that these items remain in separate boxes moving forward

  • (1)A full time member of staff completed FAR training on 12/01/2026. (2)(a) and (b)Antiseptic wipes were replaced the same day in the first aid box. Staff who are FAR trained are noted on staff rota to ensure someone is always present with FAR training while the preschool children are present. First aid box content will be check each new term by deputy manager

The manager has FAR training therefore their start time will be 8am until a second member of staff obtains FAR training. As ratios must be maintained a 2nd member of staff will carryout training at a suitable time when the manager can ensure child – staff ratios are met

Provider's corrective action:
  • 1. One member of staff is completing three Saturdays, with the last Saturday being the 24th of May. One staff member holds in date Community First Responder with extensive training in choking, fitting, heart problems, seizures, strokes and convulsions and is also an Advanced Cardiac First Response with monthly training mandatory. A FAR trainer has also been booked to come to the setting on the 24th of June to complete the training with all other staff. The FAR training will be repeated every two years; therefore every staff member will be kept up to date with the training. Following the completion of each training session I will prioritise submission of the certificates. 2. The first Aid box has been replaced and all materials in date

Provider's corrective action:
  • 1. All staff members have completed their FAR Training as of 4th September 2024. Staff had already completed part of their training prior to inspection, however the last day had been cancelled due to the trainer being ill. FAR Training will be booked well in advance to the expiry date of current certificates to ensure that we always have FAR trained staff in service at all times. 2. Eye pads have been purchased and are now added to the first aid bag. Continue monthly checks of First Aid bag to ensure that all essentials on the checklist are available to us at all times. 3. Opened tubes have been placed in a zip lock bag in the first aid bag. We will always keep creams in a zip lock bag when they have been opened, before placing into the first aid bag
