Memory Lane Pre-school, Edenderry · Regulation 25 — First aid
- (1) There was no person trained in First Aid Response (FAR) training on the premises and immediately available to the children between the hours of 7:30am – 8:00am and 17:00 – 18:00 hours. This was an area of non-compliance following inspection conducted on 4 December 2026 . The corrective action submitted by the registered provider following the inspection failed to prevent recurrence of this non-compliance
Provider's corrective action:
- (1) All staff members have been booked to attend First Aid training on 1st August 2026. On successful completion of the training, all staff will hold a FAR qualification. A training matrix will be maintained to monitor certification expiry dates and ensure refresher training is completed in advance, supporting ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements. PIC currently holds a CFR Certificate and is on site between the hours referenced

- (1) There were no persons trained in in first aid response (FAR) present and immediately available to the children attending the service on the day of the inspection
- (a) The first aid equipment was not stored in an easily accessible and conspicuous position in the premises as it was located on a shelf in the adult toilet cubicle in the sanitary area
Provider's corrective action:
- (1) Staff member shall complete FAR training when it is available
- (a)First Aid box fully equipped is now placed at the entrance door for easy access as required

- 1.A burns dressing was not available in the first aid box. 2.The hinges were broken on the portable first aid box and required replacement. 3. There was no monthly checklist in place in line with TUSLA Quality Regulatory Framework
Provider's corrective action:
- First aid box replaced and checklist introduced. Check list implemented for First aid box which will be done monthly

Little Wishes Pre-School and Afterschool Service, Athlone · Regulation 25 — First aid
- The first aid box was inadequately stocked as the following items were not available. • There was no tough cut scissors. • A burns dressing was not available. • The expiry date noted on bandages was February 2015
Provider's corrective action:
- The manager has ordered a large first aid box from a childcare agency which is compliant with this regulation and covers up to 50 persons. To ensure that our first aid box is adequate in the future we do a full check annually and replace stock as it is used throughout the year

- Expired bandages have been replaced. Entire new first aid box has been purchased
