This was found non-compliant on the last inspection dated 1st February 2023, the corrective and preventive actions submitted by the registered provider did not prevent the non-compliance from re-occurring

- (1) and (3) The registered providers did not notify the Agency of a proposed change in relation to the number of children attending on a full day care basis. The service was registered to accommodate a maximum of 46 children on a full day care basis. On Day 2 of the inspection (30 April 2026) there were 49 children attending on a full day care basis
Provider's corrective action:
- We carried out an audit on our attendance levels and sent in a change in circumstances application to the agency to be adjusted as this building can hold 72 children on a full time basis. We are awaiting on the agency to approve this. The bookings department has all the registrations on their registrations spreadsheet and bookings are based Additional Information A Regulatory Compliance Meeting was held with the registered provider on 1 July 2026 due to repeat non- compliance that had occurred from a previous inspection dated January 2025 in particular regulation 11 – Staffing Levels and regulation 19 (1)(b) – Health, Welfare and Development of Child. - (4) The inspectors did not observe a notice of the procedures to be followed in the event of fire displayed anywhere on the premises. The person in charge on Day 2 of the inspection confirmed that although a map of exit routes was displayed the procedures were not. This posed a risk to the safe evacuation of children in the event of a fire

- New fire maps have been placed into all care rooms, nappy change, nursery and hallway for a much clearer instruction for evacuation. Clear instructions in place give the staff a clearer procedure to follow in an evacuation

- The registered provider submitted written confirmation with the CAPA response on 8 May 2026, which confirmed that the smoke alarm system was serviced on 7 May 2026. As a preventive measure, it was advised in the CAPA response that the smoke alarm system will be serviced yearly and this has been added to the staff calendar to ensure it is not overlooked going forward

- (1)(a) The service identified that fire drills had not been carried out during the January –March period. We acknowledge that this was identified later than it should have been and that fire drills must be completed regularly in line with the service’s fire safety procedures. Since this was identified, two fire drills have been carried out. The service treats fire drills and evacuation practice very seriously, and Management has reviewed practical arrangements to improve the effectiveness and speed o f evacuation. As part of this review, the service tested different evacuation methods and purchased special evacuation carts for children aged 1 –2 years. These have proven to be more effective than using cots on wheels and have helped to improve the evacuation process f or younger children. Fire drills are now scheduled in the service calendar for approximately the middle of each month

- (1)(b) The service is based in rooms belonging to the primary school. Therefore, all fire safety systems are linked and are the responsibility of the primary school. The last fire alarm checks were completed in October 2024 and were due for review in October 2025. A fire safety review took place on 27 November. The technician made recommendations for improvements to the current system. The school is going to invest in a new system and is currently undertaking tenders for the required works. The principal has assured works will be completed as soon as possible

Preventative action will be taken by management to always ensure that a more detailed and certificate type of fire inspection report is given on the fire equipment in the service after each inspection
