- The registered provider submitted the service record of the smoke detection and alarm system to the office of the early years inspectorate on 27th of April 2026 and the service will ensure this carried out annually

The service has set a date for the next inspection in August before the children start back

- (1)(b) Records on file showed that the fire alarm/smoke alarm system was maintained on the 22 March 2024 which was outside the required annual maintenance of systems. It is acknowledged that following the inspection, a record of maintenance for the system dated the 2 March 2026 was received by email

Fire-fighting equipment is required to be serviced/maintained on an annual basis. It is acknowledged that following the inspection a maintenance certificate dated the 1 August 2025 was submitted by the service

- Corrective and Preventive Action The firefighting equipment has been serviced, and a certificate is displayed in the main entrance hall. The service will ensure the firefighting equipment is serviced and maintained on a yearly basis

(b) The service kept a record of the number, type and maintenance record of the smoke alarms however the records showed that the system was last maintained on the 17 January 2023 and not annually as required

- The service advised in a written response that: Corrective and Preventive Action
- (a) A fire drill was carried out 18 July 2024 and 12 August 2024. Fire drills will be carried out monthly. (b) The fire alarm system was serviced on 15 August 2024. Fire alarm systems will be serviced within 12 months. The fire alarm system company’s automatic system has been updated to accommodate this

It is acknowledged that the registered provider submitted a certificate for the annual maintenance of the firefighting equipment dated for the 27 May 2024 after the inspection

- The registered provider advised in writing that: Corrective and Preventive Action (1) (b) A visual reminder for the owner/manager is now displayed in the “cabin” as a reminder of the annual renewal date. The fire company have also assured that they will contact the service annually in relation to the servicing

A named staff member is now in charge of fire drills and has set a reminder for each month to carry out and record the fire drills. (b) The registered provider contacted a registered electrician to come out immediately to service the smoke alarms. Reminders are also set to have smoke alarms professionally checked annually
