- (a) A record was not available of the monthly fire drills that are required to be carried out in the service. The last fire drill was carried out in December 2025
Provider's corrective action:
- (1)(a) A fire drill was immediately conducted with all staff and children attending the service. A report was created, adding the number of staff and number of children present, the evacuation time, and the person in charge. ABC Future Heroes Preschool has added fire drill to its calendar and reports will be kept for each fire drill

Provider's corrective action:
- The smoke alarm system m aintenance service has been completed on the 14 October 2025. The certificate was submitted to the Inspectorate. The smoke alarm system service will be carried out going forward, records of such maintenance will be stored on site

- (a) Documented schedule for monthly fire drills printed for the year and kept in reception with reminders scheduled as prompt to complete. A fire drill was completed on the 17 June 2025. (b) The maintenance will be completed yearly. The maintenance service of the fire-fighting equipment was completed on the 17 June 2025. The maintenance service for the smoke alarm system was completed on the15 August 2025

- A mains powered smoke detection and alarm system was not in place in the premises. The battery-operated smoke detector does not meet fire safety requirements. A record for the maintenance of the smoke alarm system was not available. This non-compliance was noted on the last inspection, 24 March 2022. On the 1 8 November 2024 a referral was sent to the Local Fire Authority in Clare

- Up-to-date records were not available for the maintenance service of the smoke alarm system. The last service of the smoke alarm system took place in 2021
Provider's corrective action:
- Corrective and Preventive Action A quotation has been received and activated from the fire company, to install and maintain an upgraded smoke alarm system. The fire company are hopeful the job will be completed in December 2024/ January 2025. Work will need to be carried out at a time when children are not on the premises. The fire company will carry out regular maintenance checks as part of their contract. The inspectorate will be notified once the work is completed

- An up-to-date record of the number, type and maintenance for the internal, mains operated, smoke alarm system was not available. It is acknowledged the registered provider contacted a fire safety company on the 08 October 2024 and a maintenance service was scheduled for the 11 October 2024
Provider's corrective action:
- Corrective and Preventive Action A fire safety company inspected all the smoke alarms on 22 October 2024 and were satisfied with their findings. The outcome report was submitted to the Early Years Inspectorate. The s moke alarm system will be checked on a monthly basis by the service and recorded and will be serviced yearly by a Fire Safety company

- Corrective and Preventive Action Email and verbal communication with the school principal who rents the building to the registered provider s outlined that the local fire authority fire officer stated that under section 3.4 of the Fire Safety in Preschool’s document that the building complies with current fire safety regulations as there are only a maximum of 20 children currently registered. The registered providers have requested once again for this information to be provided in writing from the Local Authority Fire Officer directly. A copy of the email from the principal was sent to the inspectorate
