Fire drills should be carried out monthly to ensure children are familiar with evacuation procedures in the event of an emergency

- (1) Although the service has been carried out, the service certificate has not yet been received due to required panel updates. Which have been carried out today the 02/04/2026. Implemented a tracking system for all service certificates to ensure documentation is received promptly. Assigned a designated staff member in the office to follow up with contractors on outstanding certificates. Scheduled verification checks to confirm all future services are documented with certificates immediately. Ensured all staff are aware of compliance requirements and the importance of keeping records up to date

- (b) The registered provider did not ensure that the fire detection and alarm system was serviced within the required timeframe. Records indicated the system was last serviced on 10/08/2022, which exceeds the mandatory annual servicing intervals required to ensure the system’s effectiveness
Provider's corrective action:
- (1) The Fire company had called to the service to complete maintenance of fire extinguishers. I believed they had done the alarm system too, but unfortunately this was not included. From now on i will make sure that the company know to check both extinguishers and alarm system yearly. have made a note that the company will check both the alarm system and extinguishers on a yearly basis and i have set a reminder to get them checked next February 2027 to make sure that it doesn't expire again

When queried by the inspector, it was established that the smoke detection equipment in the service was battery operated. Battery-powered smoke alarms are considered to be inadequate for use in pre-school services
Provider's corrective action:
- (1) (b) Installed a Fire Detection and Alarm System (Mag 4 Fire Control Panel) which is now fully functional and operational to replace the non-compliant smoke detection equipment that was in place at time of inspection. We will incorporate a similar policy to our fire drills and fire fighting equipment when it comes to maintaining the number, type and maintenance of our Fire Detection and Alarm System with regular written and recorded checks in tandem with our fire drill procedures

- 1.(a) Immediate action was taken and a fire drill was carried out. The registered provider has stated that a fire drill schedule has been devised and displayed on notice board in hall which informs all staff of next fire drill. 2. A service check on the smoke detection system was carried out by a reputable firm on Friday 23rd May, certificate of this will be furnished to the provider at their earliest convenience. The registered provider has stated that this safety compliance check will be carried out routinely going forward
