  • General Safety: (1) Following the inspection the bolts were removed immediately from the door in the toddler room. The fire officer visited on the 27TH of May 2026 and assessed all fire safety arrangements. No plugs are used in these sockets any more we are now using wireless speaker for the relaxing music for the children to fall asleep to. Infection Control: 5.   • General Safety: 1. All staff files were reviewed on 11 March 2026 to identify expired or soon‑to‑expire Garda Vetting. Renewal of Garda vetting has been added to the mandatory annual staff file audit. A Garda Vetting tracking log has been created to record vetting dates and renewal deadlines for all staff. A risk assessment form has been created. 2. A securing mechanism was placed on the gate on 11 March 2026 to ensure it remains closed at all times during operation. Staff were informed of the updated procedure and reminded to check the gate as part of daily safety checks and during the day. A monthly premises safety audit will check that all gates are functioning correctly with any issues reported immediately to management and logged. 3. The broken cupboard lock was replaced with a secure child‑proof locking mechanism.. Staff were reminded immediately of the requirement to ensure all hazardous materials are always inaccessible to children and report any issue to management immediately. A monthly premises safety audit will now include inspection of all locks, gates, and storage areas containing hazardous materials. 4. The sink taken out of use on the day of inspection. The thermostatic controls were adjusted by the maintenance staff and will be inspected and serviced every 6 months or sooner if issues arise. Staff have been reminded of the requirement to test water before children use sinks. Any temperature outside the safe range must be reported immediately and recorded in the maintenance log. 5. The bins were replaced and staff were reminded that only foot‑operated bins are permitted in children’s areas for hygiene and infection control. Staff have been instructed to report any damaged or unsuitable equipment immediately using the maintenance log. A stock of spare foot‑operated bins will be kept on site to allow immediate replacement if needed

All staff certificates and vetting are to be checked yearly at end of the school year and calendar reminders for updates to be set accordingly. The staff will keep a document checklist. Infection Control: 2. A basket is now left on the counter at the entrance area so parents and children can place the perishable food items into it. Once all children are in the service, this basket is placed straight into the fridge. Parents were also reminded to put any perishable food items into labelled clear plastic bags. At the start of the school year the staff will inform parents of the process and rationale for storing perishable items in the fridge. 3. The green couch with the tear was removed and a new one ordered. The staff will make sure to remove and replace any torn or broken toys/equipment. The windows are opened for a period each day to provide ventilation and are out of children's reach. The window will be secured when not in use. 2. The service has contacted the pest control company and asked them to put bait boxes in safer places. The bait box has been moved from the area accessible by children. 3. The tree house has been repaired and a playhouse has been disposed of. The other playhouse has been pushed forward and a mat has been put in place to prevent it from sliding back towards the drain. 4. The staff have pushed the outdoor tiles together as is done every Friday as the tiles separate slightly during the week when the children are playing on trikes etc. The staff have repositioned other tiles to try to prevent them separating. In future the staff will reposition the tiles every evening. 5. The broken toys have been removed. In future broken toys will be disposed of

  • The registered provider advised that: General Safety: 1. The service will setup a digital reminder to alert staff when vetting renewals are due and the registered provider will check this every two month. The staff member is no longer working in the service. 2. The underlay has been properly secured and a roll of artificial grass has been ordered to cover the area. The staff have added that the underlay is to be checked to the outdoor area daily safety check list. Infection Control: 3. The vent has been cleaned. The cleaning of the vent is now listed on weekly cleaning record sheet. The registered provider is to check this and sign off weekly. 4. The manager is to check and ensure cleaning records are updated daily. 5. An automatic timer clock is installed which is set to heat and control water temperature. The staff are no longer reliant on the heating system to heat the water

  • General Safety: 1. Garda vetting renewals have been applied for the staff members. The service is still awaiting return of garda vetting renewals for two staff members. The registered provider will forward email copies of the renewals soon as they are received. The staff will regularly check garda vetting to ensure that it is in date for all staff. 2. The door on the boiler has been refitted and has been painted with rust proof paint. The staff will regularly inspect the outdoor area for wear and tear and respond as needed. 3. The gate leading to the small outside play area has been repaired. The staff will regularly inspect outdoor area for wear and tear and respond as needed. Infection Control: 4. The soft seating that was ripped in the Full Day Care playroom has been removed. The staff will regularly inspect indoor area for wear and tear and respond as needed. 5. The waste bins in the Pre-school areas have been replaced with pedal bins. The staff will make sure all bins in the service are pedal operated bins. 6. The mattress in this cot has been removed. The service has not replaced it as the cot is not now being used. The staff will replace the mattress with a new mattress it if in time it is needed to be used cot again. The staff will carry out regular check all cots for stains and make sure they are fitted with mattress protectors. 7. Cleaning records are up now up to date. The staff will check that cleaning sheets are filled out every evening before closing

  • General Safety: 1. The recycled microwave has been moved to the ground where it does not pose a potential safety to children. Staff will carry out risk assessments of materials in the service to ensure they are safe for all children to use. Infection Control: 2. The metal bin in the children’s sanitary unit has been replaced. Bins will be replaced as needed and well maintained. 3. Three bikes with rust on them have been removed to be fixed over the summer and the stool with rust on it has been disposed of. Outdoor equipment is subject to rust, but the service will look at getting a preventative measure to ensure equipment lasts longer. 4. Sweeping brushes are now placed in the hall when not in use, out of reach of children. The mop handle is also stored there, and the mop head is replaced after each use so is not considered a potential infection risk. Staff will place their belongings in their car or in the kitchenette if needed

  • General Safety: 1. On the day the bolt was not in the lock properly. The staff secured this immediately once made aware of this. The registered provider checks the bolt every morning to ensure it is in the locked position. 2. The pest control company had visited the Tuesday previously and had left the bait box in view of children. The staff immediately moved the box out of view and reach. The designated person in charge rang the company that day to address the issue with them and ask them to ensure all boxes are out of reach and sight. The designated person in charge will also check this after each visit by the company. 3. Some of the afterschool boxes of equipment had been stacked too high. The staff immediately removed them and placed them in a safe area. All boxes will be stored in a low safe manner in future. 4. The plastic house was discarded immediately

  • General Safety: 1. A risk assessment was undertaken, and a checklist created. The log/checklist is completed by staff daily before going outdoors. 2. The school principal was informed of TUSLA requirements. The school principal in turn contacted the pest control services to request the rodent boxes be removed. Infection Control: 3. Permission was requested from the school principal to relocate their bins. The bins were moved to a shed which is locked at all times and inaccessible to the children
