Provider's corrective action:
  • : The registered provider has stated in the corrective and preventive form (CAPA) that: Basic Needs: Following on from the inspection arrangements were made to fully replace the existing children’s toilet cubicle which is linked to Pre-school 2 room. A designated company will install a new cubicle with extended partition walls and fitted doors. The redesigned cubicle will provide children with an increased level of privacy while using the toilet facilities. The extended walls will also create a more spacious cubicle, ensuring children are comfortable and their dignity is maintained at all times. For the toilet in the Toddler changing room, a door has been ordered to be fitted as well. The service will ensure to carry out regular environmental and health and safety checks. The conditions and suitability of the toilet facilities will be monitored. Any issues identified will be addressed promptly to ensure children’s privacy, dignity, and wellbeing are maintained at all times. Future refurbishments to the environment will also be reviewed against Tusla standards to ensure ongoing compliance

  • 1. The registered provider has committed to ensuring that the children’s clothes are changed when needed and has requested additional clothing changes from parents. Management will continue to review this to ensure adequate supplies of clothes are available to ensure the comfort of the children

  • Management have advised the staff member in charge of this room to seek cover from management or another staff member when nappy changing needs to take place. This will ensure that only one child will be in the sanitary accommodation at any one time and the privacy and dignity of the children will be respected at all times. Management will ensure that all staff have adequate cover when nappy changing is required and the privacy and dignity of children will be respected at all times

Provider's corrective action:
  • 1.All repair works were completed in the outdoor area and the facility was reopened for the children. Plans to establish a separate safe area for the younger children were in progress. 2. The nappy changing policy at the service was reviewed. Children no longer must wait their turn in this area of the service. A copy of the new procedure was displayed in the changing area to remind staff of the updated policy

  • 1.Outlined in the corrective action report was a detailed plan of how children with their key workers now move to various different spaces indoors and outdoors and experiencing different play opportunities during each day. 2.Additional equipment to encourage and enhance children’s gross motor development were purchased for the service. 3. Work has commenced on planning and developing a sheltered outdoor area for children to ensure their time outside is not weather dependent

Provider's corrective action:
  • In reply to the inspection report the registered provider stated that they are currently applying for the Building Blocks expansion grant in order to build up the half wall between the Baby and Toddler rooms. This will create two separate individual rooms helping reduce noise levels. The service will maximise the use of the outdoor areas especially during the spring/summertime. This will help to reduce noise levels inside. This will help ensure children in each individual room will have the opportunity for quiet time during the day
