Provider's corrective action:
  • 1. Staff were informed at a staff meeting held in July of the importance of keeping the door leading to the toilets unlocked, so that children can access the toilets as they need to. Signage has been placed on the door leading to the toilets as a reminder for staff to keep the door unlocked

All staff were informed that at all times seating will be available to the children and that a variety of play materials are to be accessible at all times to the children

  • 1.Works have been completed at the service to adjust and increase the water pressure in the hot tapes. To ensure hygienic washing of hands the water temperature has been adjusted to ensure it is stable at 39° Celsius. The water heater is on a timer to ensure it is working at all times when the service is operational. 2.Comfortable adult seating has been added to the room to ensure staff and children can sit together and enjoy meaningful interaction time

This is to ensure that there is a quiet area where children can sit away from noisy activities or rest throughout the day. Management have spoken with staff in the room in regard to the requirements for this area

  • 1. The registered provider has updated all staff on the allergies and dietary requirements for the children in their care. A list has been made available in each care room with the children’s allergies recorded for easy access by staff. The registered provider has committed to updating this as required. 2. The registered provider in consultation with the staff have reviewed how the service and staff communicate with parents and a plan is being implemented to issue an observation sheet to parents/guardians on a regular basis and if/when necessary a meeting will be planned between the parents and management. A communication book has been purchased and the use of this will be monitored by the registered provider

Provider's corrective action:
  • & Supporting Documentation Submitted 1.The manger stated that use of the CD will be timetabled, and staff members have been trained in this new practice. A policy stating correct use of the CD was submitted. 2.The manger stated that staff members have been trained to adhere to the service healthy eating policy, to reinforce practices to ensure that they sit with the children during meals and encourage a more interactive and sociable time. The said policy was submitted stating the above. Summary Comment The identified breaches have been suitably addressed through the CAPA and submitted policies which were closely reviewed. The Requirements of these subsections of the Regulation have been met
