Glin Montessori Preschool, Glin · Regulation 10 — Policies, procedures etc. of pre-school service
- The following written policies, procedures and statements as specified in Schedule 5 were not in place in the service. 1. Statement of purpose and function. 2. Policy on infection control. 3. Policy on Accidents and Incidents. 4. Policy on Authorisation to collect children. 5. Policy on Healthy Eating. As the required policies, procedures and statements were not developed and available, it posed a potential risk that the care provided was not in line with quality care practices. The availability of the required policies and procedures standardise the services approach to best practice and ensure compliance with the regulations
Provider's corrective action:
- All policies and procedures have been updated and are on file in the service. The service will ensure all policies and procedures are up to date and checked regularly

- 1.The above policies were viewed by the inspector, and it was noted that the policies were not signed off by the person approving the policies, and the last review date was September 2022. This was at variance with the policies for the service, which stated that all policies will be reviewed annually and signed off by management
Provider's corrective action:
- : The registered provider has stated that: The policies have been updated and signed off and reminders set to annually update the policies for the service in August. Summary Comment The regulatory requirements of Regulation 10 have been met. This will be reviewed at the next inspection

St. Colmans childcare services, Ardagh · Regulation 10 — Policies, procedures etc. of pre-school service
- 1. The above policies were viewed by the inspectors, and it was noted that the policies were not signed off by the person approving the policies, and the last review date was March 2021. This was at variance with the policies for the service which stated that all policies will be reviewed annually and signed off by management. 2. A daily documented risk assessment of playrooms, sanitary areas, sleep areas and outdoors were not available, and annual/quarterly/monthly risk assessment of the entire building and operations were not available. This is at variance with the services Risk Management policy which stated that: • Daily risk assessments of playrooms, sanitary areas, sleep areas and outdoors will be carried out and will be documented. • Annual/quarterly and or monthly risk assessments will be carried out as appropriate of the entire building and operations and will be recorded by the service
Provider's corrective action:
- : The manager has stated that: 1. All policies have been reviewed, updated and signed by the manager. 2. A daily risk assessment of the building was carried out by the manager. Daily risk assessments of playrooms, sanitary areas, sleep areas and outdoors will be carried out and will be documented. Annual/quarterly and or monthly risk assessments will be carried out as appropriate of the entire building and operations and will be recorded by the service

Teach Mhuire Montessori, Abbeyfeale · Regulation 10 — Policies, procedures etc. of pre-school service
- The policy and procedure manual for the service which was drafted in May 2018 had not been updated. This may have resulted in staff not following correct procedures if they were unsure of the steps to follow in each policy e.g., accident and incident policy, notification of incident policy, policy on infection control, policy on managing behaviour. Staff names documented on the policies and procedures manual were no longer working in the service. At a regulatory compliance meeting held on 08/12/2023 the person in charge advised the inspection and registration manager that the service was currently working with the local county childcare committee to review and update all the policies and procedures for the service. The person in charge informed the inspection and registration manager that this process would be completed by 1st March 2024
Provider's corrective action:
- The person in charge will ensure that all staff members are familiar with the policies and procedures relevant to the service and that all policies are updated regularly and available to staff and parents
