- 1. The service provides all the meals and drinks for the children during their day. Following a review of the Healthy Eating policy, the policy did not contain the core components of what healthy eating should be. A robust and comprehensive Healthy Eating policy is essential to meet the nutritional needs of the children, while attending the service
Provider's corrective action:
- 1. Our policy regarding healthy eating has been updated to reflect the changes in practice. The policy will be reviewed annually to ensure it reflects practice and continues to be in line with healthy eating guidelines

Cois Cairn Community Playgroup, Bray · Regulation 10 — Policies, procedures etc. of pre-school service
- Following a review of the risk assessment policy it was noted that the policy had not been reviewed and updated since the Covid 19 pandemic and was not robust enough to guide staff on the importance of carrying out and recording daily risk assessment practices for inside the playgroup and the outdoor play area
Provider's corrective action:
- The risk assessment policy was reviewed and updated. The service has undertaken a review of all policies and procedures, taking one per month till completed

Nexus ASD Pre-School, Bray · Regulation 10 — Policies, procedures etc. of pre-school service
- 1. Following a review of the Nappy Changing policy, it was noted that the policy did not state when children, following a nappy change, should have their hands washed or when they should be brought back to the care room. Hand washing for children is an essential part of infection control to prevent cross contamination. 2. Following a review of the Safe Sleep policy, it was noted that the policy did not state that sleeping children should be observed at 10-minute intervals, for breathing, colour and position, and that these observations need to be recorded and signed by the observer. Observation and recording of sleeping children is required as part of the safe sleep guidelines
Provider's corrective action:
- 1&2 We have updated and submitted our Nappy Changing Policy and Sleeping Policy to include the relevant information as discussed with the inspector
