The Village Creche, Ballyroan · Regulation 27 — Supervision
- (1) The registered provider did not submit the required notification of proposed change in circumstances to notify Tusla in advance of changes being made to the person in charge and the email address for the service
Provider's corrective action:
- The person in charge stated in the response that a change in circumstance was submitted to Tusla in respect of a change to the person in charge. (Acknowledgment included). The registered provider has decided to keep the original service email address. Summary Comment In respect of the corrective actions taken documentary evidence was submitted to the office of the Early Years Inspectorate, reviewed by the Early Years Inspector and deemed to meet the regulatory requirement. The inspectorate reserves the right to edit responses received for reasons including clarity, completeness and compliance with administrative and legal processes. The contents of the report are compiled by the inspectorate body. Acknowledgments The inspectors wish to acknowledge the cooperation of the deputy person in charge, staff and children who were present on the day of the inspection

Tir na nÓg Playschool, Clonaslee · Regulation 27 — Supervision
- The children were not adequately supervised during the transition to return indoors following outdoor play. Staff did not have an effective system in place to ensure all 23 children playing outdoors were counted before transitioning inside. As the children were removing their coats and wellington boots at 12:20, a child who had been left in the outdoor play area was observed knocking on a locked door to gain entry. A staff member opened the door and the child was returned to their peer group. This presented a risk that a child might experience emotional distress or experience harm due to lack of supervision. It is acknowledged that the child was not distressed
Provider's corrective action:
- Staff were informed to conduct head counts during transitions to and from the outdoor area. The services Supervision of Children policy has been updated. All staff were made aware of the changes and procedures to be carried out during transitions. This was discussed at a staff meeting where our supervision of children policy was discussed

Just 4 Kids Creche, Portarlington · Regulation 27 — Supervision
- 1. At 13.45, adequate supervision was not provided to four children were sleeping on floor beds in the Mars room. A staff member briefly left the room and did not seek assistance from other staff when they needed to leave the room briefly. 2. Children in the outdoor play area observed to be climbing onto and jumping off a mud kitchen unit. Staff were observed to have their backs to the children while they climbed and jumped. This posed a risk to injury to the children if they fell
Provider's corrective action:
- 1. Staff have been reminded that preschool rooms cannot be left unattended. The sleep supervision protocol was reviewed with all staff. Supervisor will conduct spot-checks during sleep periods. 2. The outdoor area was risk assessed, and staff have been reminded to maintain visual supervision and positioning outdoors. Staff have been recommended completing Risky play training. Outdoor supervision zones have been defined. Summary Comment The inspector has reviewed the corrective and preventive actions taken and evidence submitted. The non- compliances identified under Regulation 27 have been adequately addressed
