Regulation 9 — Management and recruitment
- (d) It is acknowledged documentation was on file for four staff members who had lived in a state other than the State for a period of longer than 6 consecutive months, however, these documents had not been translated
- The qualification for one staff member could not be determined as a document on file was not translated and therefore could not be equated to a recognised qualification on the Department of Children, Equality, Disability Integration and Youth (DCEDIY) list of recognised qualifications
Provider's corrective action:
- Corrective Action (d) All documentation for staff that lived in another state have been translated and are on file in the service
- The officially translated qualification documents have been submitted to the Department of Children, Equality, Disability Integration and Youth (DCEDIY), in the interim, this staff member has been allocated to a kitchen as a cook in another service until the documents are verified. Preventive Action (d)(4) All documents are translated by an official translator before staff member has been employed. The recruitment specialist has been instructed that this is to be done before employment is offered and is now instructing future employees to do this before receiving a letter of offer
