Regulation 19 — Health, welfare and development of child
(1) The children’s sippy water cups were inaccessible on the day of inspection in the Naiolann playroom. It was acknowledged the sippy cups with water were available on the sink counter out of reach of the children aged 1-2 years of age
Provider's corrective action:
On the 4/11/2025 the register provider advised of the following Corrective and Preventive Action A new low-level table was set up in the Naiolann playroom for the children to reach their water cups when thirsty
Regulation 21 — Equipment and materials
(1) Two low tables and 6 low chairs were available in the Naiolann playroom with 7 children present on the day of inspection. The person in charge advised the room accommodates 8 children under 2 years of age. Extra seating was required for the children in this playroom

On the 4/11/2025 the registered provider advised of the following. Corrective and Preventive Action Two new chairs were purchased for the Naiolann playroom to accommodate all 8 children attending that room
Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child
General Safety: (1) The rubber cover on the foot pedal on the lidded bin in the Naiolann playroom was missing and required replacement. A protruding metal piece remained to open the bin. This posed a risk of safety to the children in this playroom. Infection Control: (2) Inconsistent practices were observed in relation to the safe storage of soothers in the Naiolann playroom. An uncovered child’s soother was observed in an open school bag hanging on a hook outside the Naiolann playroom. Staff advised that parents choose to send soothers into the preschool uncovered occasionally and some parents will use sandwich bags to store the soothers as observed by the inspector in the fridge. This practice was at variance with the service policy. This caused the potential risk of cross infection. Safe Sleep: (3) Three of the 4 cots in the designated sleep room adjacent to the Naiolann playroom were positioned less than 50cm apart at variance with the service policy. This caused a potential access risk to the sleeping child. Action submitted by the Registered Provider On the 4/11/2025 the registered provider advised of the following
Provider's corrective action:
General Safety: (1) A new foot pedal lidded bin was purchased and placed in the Naiolann playroom and the broken bin was removed. All equipment and materials will be checked regularly going forward and item broken or in need of replacement will be recorded. Infection Control: (2) All soothers were placed in individual named containers in the preschool service. All the staff had re training on the policies and procedures of the service in relation to health and safety and healthy eating policy. Safe Sleep: (3) Each of the cots are correctly spaced 50cm apart now. The staff will review the service policy and procedures regularly
