Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child
- General Safety: The main entrance gate was not adequately secured to prevent unauthorised adults from entering or children leaving the premises unsupervised while the children were observed playing in the outdoor play area. It was acknowledged that when informed the deputy temporarily secured the gate until a more permanent solution could be organised. Action submitted by the Registered Provider
Provider's corrective action:
- General Safety: 1. The gate has been secured to prevent unauthorised adults entering or children leaving the premises unsupervised while playing in the outdoor play area. Prior to the children going outdoors to play staff will ensure that the gate is secured
Regulation 29 — Premises
- (d) The mechanical air vent grille in the Jumping Joeys sanitary area was filled with dust potentially impacting the efficiency of the ventilation system. It was acknowledged that this had been cleaned on the morning of day 2
Provider's corrective action:
- (d) Corrective and Preventive Action • The mechanical air vent grille in the Jumping Joeys sanitary area was cleaned. This has been added to the weekly cleaning list of all three care rooms to ensure that they are maintained in a clean state to facilitate the circulation of fresh air
