- On the day of the inspection, the service provider served a toasted sandwich along with fresh fruit and yogurt for the main meal of the day at 12.30 pm. This was at variance with the healthy eating policy of the service and the foods choices listed on the menu plan, which stated a hot meal would be served each day for children attending the full-day care service
Provider's corrective action:
- The registered provider in their reply to the inspection report committed to providing a substantial hot main meal to the children each day at dinnertime

- 1. The children were not provided with plates or cutlery during their lunchtime meal

- & Supporting Documentation Submitted The registered provider stated that cutlery and plates are now provided. A photograph of the items was submitted. Summary Comment A photograph of cutlery and crockery was submitted to the early years office to evidence that the non-compliance had been suitably addressed. The Requirement has been met

- 1. One child was observed drinking blackcurrant juice which was at variance with the service healthy eating policy whereby it stated that only water was offered to the children
