- (1) (a) Sleep facilities for the 8 children aged under 2 years in attendance in the Baby/Toddler room were insufficient. There was a total of 3 cots available. The required sleep facilities for children aged 18 months to 2 years is; Cots available for half the children in this age range. Therefore, they required access to a total of 4 cots or an appropriate floor bed, which children aged over 15 months and under 2 years old can access, as per Tusla safe sleep guidance
Provider's corrective action:
- The registered provider stated that the service will be purchasing the surrounds for the sleep mattresses

Krafty Kidz Daisyhill, Ballyconnell · Regulation 20 — Facilities for rest and play
- (1)(b) There were no sheets available to put on the fold-out sleep mats and the children had to lie directly onto the plastic covering, this was confirmed by the staff members
Provider's corrective action:
- Individual sheets and blankets are available for sleep mats. They are clearly labelled and stored to prevent cross contamination. Sheets and blankets will be available to all children; this will ensure comfort and warmth during their rest period

- There was no safety impact surface under the large wooden climbing frame with slide. This is a health and safety hazard. It is acknowledged that a call was received from the registered provider the day following the inspection to state that a contractor had been sourced to install an appropriate safety surface under the play equipment
Provider's corrective action:
- (3)(a) The registered provider has contracted a company to supply and install a soft play area around the climbing frame. This work has now been completed. This addresses the non-compliance and will last long into the future

- (1)(b) There was no soft and comfortable area for a child to go and relax on, to take a break from activities or to lie down on if tired or unwell
Provider's corrective action:
- All soft furnishings were removed during covid. It was an oversight that this area had not been restored and corrected. A soft rug and cushions were purchased immediately post inspection and the soft furnished area for children to relax or take a break if unwell has been fully restored. This area will be retained and available to children in the future as it had been pre-covid
