General Safety: 1. The wooden covers on the two radiators in the pre-school room were loose on their mounting. This posed a safety risk. 2. Garda vetting, which was available for one adult, was not dated within the previous three years in adherence to with the Early Years Inspectorate Regulatory Notice ‘EYI-RN12.3 Renewal of Garda Vetting’. Infection Control: 3.The bin available in the sanitary area was not foot-pedal operated. This increases the risk of cross infection. 4. The cloth surface at the base of the tepee tent in the pre-school room required cleaning. There was evidence of debris and discolouration of the material. The tent was not included in the written cleaning schedule of the service

Provider's corrective action:

Corrective & Preventive Action General Safety: 1. The wooden covers on the radiators have all been tightened and checked. The radiators will be checked regularly. 2. Garda vetting has been renewed and a reminder has been set for 3 years’ time to renew vetting again. Infection Control: 3. There is now a foot pedal bin in sanitary area. 4. The play tent has been removed from the classroom. If a new tepee tent is purchased it will be added to the weekly cleaning schedule
