Tir na nOg Childcare Centre, Rosslare Harbour · Regulation 30 — Minimum space requirements
- There was insufficient space available in the log cabin for the number of children attending during the afternoon on day 1 of inspection. The staff confirmed that the children from the ECCE room and log cabin amalgamated together in the afternoon in the log cabin as the ECCE room is used to accommodate school aged children during the afternoon. Room: Ages & Number of Children: Space Requirements: 2.3 sq. Metres Space Required: Space Available: Log Cabin Between 1.30and 2.30 pm: 15 children (aged between 3-5 years) At 2.30pm: 14 children (aged between 3-5 years) 34.5 sq. metres 32. 2 sq. metres 21.8 sq. Provider's corrective action:
- The registered provider submitted the following response: Corrective and Preventive Action The registered provider stated that she is in negotiations with the local national school to secure use of a room in the school to accommodate the school aged children. Alternative options include the extension of the log cabin. The registered provider states that going forward she will review the numbers of children attending

Discoveryland Creche and Montessori, Wexford · Regulation 30 — Minimum space requirements
- In response to the non-compliance found on inspection in April 2025, the registered provider stated that the number of children attending the ECCE room was reduced to 14. This was not implemented. A review of children’s attendance records for the ECCE room from 15 September 2025 to 10 October 2025, demonstrated that there were more than 14 children in attendance for more than 3.5 hours in the ECCE room at any one time. On 11 days of the 20 days sampled, there were 15 to 18 children in attendance at the ECCE room for more than 3.5 hours. This regulation was found to be non-compliant in 2024 and 2025
Provider's corrective action:
- The service reduced four children’s hours. The registered provider will ensure the service only have 14 children in the afternoon

Kickstart Education + Childcare, Gorey · Regulation 30 — Minimum space requirements
- There was insufficient space available in the Joey’s room (sunroom) for the number of children attending on the day. A further review of the attendance records indicated that on the following dates the room was also overcrowded: 19/05/2025, 15/05/2025, 9/05/2025, 1/05/2025 with 10 children aged between 4 and 5 in the room each morning. Provider's corrective action:
- The registered provider submitted the following response: Corrective and Preventive Action The registered provider has reviewed the layout and arrangements with the room. The middle room and sunroom will not operate as one room. The team have reviewed the number of hours that children attend

- There was not adequate clear floor space to accommodate the children attending the ECCE room on the afternoon of the inspection. ECCE room. 26.6 square meters 3 to 6 years 11 14 At 12.50pm 11 children aged from 3 to 6 years from the registered provider’s sessional service joined the 9 children who were in the ECCE room. At that time there was a total of 20 full day care children in a room where the space only allowed for 11 full day care children
Provider's corrective action:
- Parents have been informed that children will only be accommodated in the service when the service can comply with ensuring there are no more than 30 children at any one time in the service. The registered provider and manager will ensure the numbers of children in the service do not exceed 30 at any one time to ensure the service is adequately always insured
