Regulation 9 — Management and recruitment
- (2)(a) There were only one reference each available for 2 adults working at the service. A second written and validated reference was not available. (4) Three of the adults who worked directly with the pre-school children during the inspection did not hold an Early Childhood Care and Education qualification at a minimum of Level 5 on the National Framework of Qualifications or a qualification deemed by the Minister to be equivalent
Provider's corrective action:
- (2)(a) All staff files have been updated ensuring that two validated references are in place on each file. The registered provider stated that the service will ensure all staff files are maintained up to date. (4) Two of the staff members are no longer working in the service. Evidence of qualification for the third staff member has been forwarded. The registered provider stated that all staff will have appropriate qualifications before hiring
Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child
- General Safety: • Garda vetting was available for twenty-seven adults employed by the service. However, three vetting disclosures were not dated within the previous three years in adherence with the Early Years Inspectorate Regulatory Notice. It is acknowledged that evidence of applications for renewal of Garda vetting on 29 May 2025 were submitted by the service. Action submitted by the Registered Provider
Provider's corrective action:
- General Safety: Garda vetting for the staff members has been renewed and the service will ensure that all staff members garda vetting is up to date and dated in the previous three years, in adherence with the Early years inspectorate regulatory notice
