1. On the day of inspection, the walls and the timber work in the children’s sanitary areas were not kept in good repair, there were areas of the walls and timber work that had sections of peeling paint and small crevices that were unsealed. This posed a risk to the children, as these areas were not easily cleaned. 2. The children’s hand-washing sink in the children’s sanitary area was stained and did not appear to be hygienically clean, thus posing a risk of cross infection to the children attending

Provider's corrective action:

The registered provider stated the following in their reply: Corrective and Preventive Action 1. The children’s sanitary area was repaired and repainted. Unsealed crevices were identified and sealed and painted. 2. The children’s hand-washing sink was deep cleaned to ensure it was suitable for use by children. Regular cleaning and maintenance checks of the sanitary area have now been added to the daily routine to ensure the area is kept clean, safe and in good condition at all times
