Inspection of 5 March 2026 — Inspection Report
Immediate action notice. A Garda vetting Immediate Action Notice was issued to the registered provider on 9/3/27 and the response submitted by the registered provider on 10/3/26 was accepted by the Inspectorate.
Immediate action notice. registered provider must demonstrate how they have rectified the non-compliance and will prevent any non - compliance from re occurring. The Corrective Action and Preventive Action plan (CAPA) will be used to inform decisions about compliance with regulatory requirements. Where the registered provider fails to meet the statutory requirements an escalation process may be commenced.
Regulation 9 — Management and recruitment
- (2)(a) The 2 written references for the contracted worker were not validated. (c) Documentary evidence of a Garda vetting Disclosure was not available for the contracted worker. It is acknowledged that the registered provider provided documentary evidence of the confirmation of the original application having been applied for and processed by the vetting bureau. An Immediate Action Notice was issued to the registered provider and an adequate response received. (d) International police vetting was not available for the contracted worker who had lived outside the Irish jurisdiction as an adult for a period of 6 months or more
Provider's corrective action:
- (2)(a) Two written and validated references are on file in the school All regular visitors will now be vetted and have references before entering the service. (c) and (d) The contracted worker who was a regular visitor to the school, is not attending the service with immediate effect. She will return to the service when she is vetted and has all supporting documentation
Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child
- General Safety: 1. The registered provider had not adhered to the 3 yearly re-vetting timeframes as outlined in the Early Years Inspectorate Regulatory Notice for 1 staff member. 2. On the day of inspection there was a sound beeping from the smoke alarm system indicating a fault in the system. This is a health and safety risk. 3. The large dolls house was positioned in front of the emergency fire exit blocking it during the inspection. This is a safety risk
Provider's corrective action:
- Corrective & Preventive Action General Safety: 1. The Garda vetting has been applied for through an agency. Vetting will be done in a timely manner well in advance of the expiry date. The registered provider will ensure to have reviews around this. 2. The fire alarm was beeping on the day of the inspection, the alarm had been serviced a few weeks before that, the engineer came out, checked the system again and replaced the battery for safety measures. The engineers always service the system with the highest standard and are on all call if any issues arise. 3. The dolls house was moved to another part of the room, making sure this would never happen again. A staff member moved the doll’s house in front of the fire door when she was getting food out of the fridge and forgot to move it back
