Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child
- General Safety: 1. The floor in the bathroom adjacent to Montessori three was quite wet following the children washing their hands. The inspector observed pools of water on the floor following the children washing their hands. This was not observed by staff members and posed a risk of falling to children. It is noted that when this was brought to the attention of management, it was dried up immediately. 2. The hallway at the bottom of Montessori three was accessible to children as the alarm on the door was not working. The hallway contained staff lockers and two large electronic units which were placed on top of a table. This posed a risk of injury to a child. Action submitted by the Registered Provider
Provider's corrective action:
- General Safety: 1. In her written response, the registered provider stated that a new procedure in place which will ensure staff will be more proactive in their checking of the bathrooms. 2. The written response further detailed that the hallway had been cleared and a new alarm fitted on the door
