Regulation 9 — Management and recruitment
- (2) (a) Two staff references were not validated by the registered provider, as is required prior to commencing employment and having access to children in the service
Provider's corrective action:
- The registered provider replied to state that the two references were each validated. The registered provider stated a new validation record form had been developed in order to ensure they fully validated all staff references going forward
Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child
- Infection Control: On the day of inspection, perishable snacks were not observed to be refrigerated to prevent food spoilage as required. This issue was noted in the previous inspection of 10 November 2021 and addressed through CAPA. It is acknowledged that there was a fridge in place, however it was not observed to be used to refrigerate the preschool children’s snacks/meals for those attending on the day of inspection. Provider's corrective action:
- & Supporting Documentation Infection Control: The registered provider responded to state that every morning when the children come in, the lunch boxes now go straight into the fridge before any other activity starts. They have sent out emails to the new parents telling them that the food for the fridge needs to be separate or in a small bag so they can easily move it into the fridge each morning
