Inspection of 17 September 2025 — Inspection Report
Immediate action notice. An Immediate Action Notice (IAN) was issued to the designated person in charge during the onsite inspection in relation to elevated water temperatures exceeding 50 degrees Celsius at 3 wash hand basins. A response to the IAN issued was received on 18.9.’25, it was deemed adequate in mitigating the risk.
Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child
- General Safety: 1. The temperature of the warm water exceeded 50 degrees Celsius at the sinks in the bathrooms within the playroom, in the disabled/adult toilet, in the boy’s toilet and in the girl’s toilet. Once the person in charge was informed of this finding, the temperature device for heating the water was reduced immediately. The temperature of the warm water at the 3 wash hand basins in question was re-checked at 11:40 and found at below 43 degrees Celsius at each of the 3 sinks. An IAN was issued onsite on 20.8.’25 in response to this non-compliance. 2. There was 1 set of double doors in the hall that were not adequately secured to prevent children gaining unsupervised access out to public sanitary accommodation, to meeting rooms where fire exit doors with low level opening handles exited to the roadway, posing a risk to children. 3. There was a set double fire doors with a low-level push bar used to open the doors. They opened directly out to the carpark and roadway posing a risk of injury to children. Provider's corrective action:
- General Safety: 1. The plumber has fitted water temperature regulators on each of the 3 sinks in the bathrooms. The water is now regulated to the required temperature of below 43 degrees Celsius. The regulators will be on the sinks going forward to ensure the warm water is at the correct temperature every day. 2. Alarms have been purchased and are now in place on the doors to prevent children gaining unsupervised access out. 3. Alarms have been fitted to the doors to prevent the children gaining unsupervised access out and to alert the staff
