Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child

  • General Safety: 1. The floor covering at the entrance to the children’s bathroom was observed to be ripped on the day of inspection. This presented a potential tripping risk to the children. Action submitted by the Registered Provider

  • General Safety: In her written response the registered provider stated that the floor had been repaired

Regulation 9 — Management and recruitment

  • (a)(b) There were no references and required validations available on file in respect of the third adult
  • A copy of a childcare qualification was not available on file for review by the inspector in respect of the third adult

  • (2)(a)(b) The refences and reference validations in respect of the third adult were obtained and are now available on file. (4) A copy of the third adult’s qualification has been obtained and is now available on file

Regulation 16 — Record in relation to pre-school service

  • (1)(3) A copy of a curriculum vitae in respect of the third adult was not available on file for review by the inspector

Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child

  • Infection Control: 1. The pedal operated bin in 1 of the children’s toilet cubicle was not in good condition as it was not provided with a lid and posed a risk of cross infection. Action submitted by the Registered Provider

  • Infection Control: 1. A pedal bin has been purchased and is now available in the children’s toilet cubicle

Regulation 25 — First aid

  • No adult attached to the service had training in first aid response (FAR) as required to meet the regulations
Provider's corrective action:
  • (1) The registered provider has been in contact with a support body and her name has been added to the next available FAR training day. She will ensure in future that an adult with FAR training is on the premises
