Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child
- The service had not demonstrated compliance with the requirement to have all Garda vetting renewed every 3 years for 1 staff member. It is acknowledged the inspector received confirmation the registered provider had applied for the re-vetting of this staff member shortly after the inspection. Action submitted by the Registered Provider
Provider's corrective action:
- The registered provider will ensure all Garda vetting is renewed every 3 years going forward
Regulation 26 — Fire safety measures
- It is acknowledged there was a template in place to record any fire drill which had taken place in the service. However, the last fire drill was recorded as having taken place in October 2024. Preschool services are required to carry out fire drills monthly to comply with national fire safety standards
Provider's corrective action:
- A fire drill was carried out in the service on the day after the inspection. Staff have been reminded to carry out monthly fire drills in the service
