Regulation 9 — Management and recruitment
- (4) One staff member did not hold a childcare qualification
Provider's corrective action:
- Corrective Action The existing contract of employment is due to expire, and the contract will not be renewed once expired. Preventive Action Ensure all staff have the appropriate qualifications when being employed. Summary Comment Thie Regulation remains outstanding as one staff member does not hold a childcare qualification
Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child
- Infection Control: Childrens lunches were not stored in the fridge to prevent the growth of food poisoning bacteria
Provider's corrective action:
- Infection Control: Corrective Action Ensure all lunches are stored in the refrigerator at the beginning of each session. Preventive Action Ensure all staff are informed of the correct regulation and the change to store lunches in the refrigerator. Summary Comment The registered provider has given an assurance that actions have been taken to address this non-compliance. This assurance has been accepted and it will be reviewed at the next inspection
Regulation 25 — First aid
- (1) The service did not have a person with up to date First Aid Responders course available at all times to the children attending the pre-school service. No staff member had up to date FAR training, however it is acknowledged that two staff members had paediatric first aid certificates
Provider's corrective action:
- Corrective Action Staff have been enrolled in FAR course and will have up to date training in place by early May 2024. Preventive Action Ensure training records are checked biannually so they are kept up to date
