Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child
- General Safety: (1) A large protruding nail was noted in the steering wheel in the wooden bus in the outdoor area which posed a safety hazard. (2) Children less than 3 years of age were noted on a high climbing frame that was not age appropriate which posed a safety hazard. Corrective Action: 1. During the inspection a protruding nail was noted on the steering wheel of the outdoor truck. This was tightened on the day of inspection and inspector was sent photographic evidence. Preventative Action 1. The protruding nail will remain tightened going forward. Corrective Action: 2. As a number of the children in the green room are aged 3 and are permitted to climb the climbing frame a risk assessment will be carried out prior to allowing the children to climb to ensure they are capable. Preventative Action: 2 Children below 3 years of age, that are not capable of climbing the frame will be provided with alternative age-appropriate climbing equipment instead. Supporting documentation submitted Photographic evidence submitted of non-protruding nail on steering wheel of wooden truck. Summary Comment The response from the registered provider has been accepted as the non-compliances relating to the safety of the children have been addressed satisfactorily. Photographic evidence submitted was reviewed. Regulation 23 has met regulatory compliance
