Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child
- Administration of medication: 1. Signed parental consent was not obtained in respect of one child in receipt of prescription medication prior to the medication being administered to the child in the service. Signed parental consent is required to ensure the correct medication, dose, route and frequency of administration to the right child. Action submitted by the Registered Provider
Provider's corrective action:
- Administration of medication 1. Staff have been reminded to fill out medication books and ensure that all records are signed by parents at collection times. Staff have been given training on recording medical forms correctly and are aware of the requirement for parental signature. Summary Comment All evidence submitted meets the requirements of the Child Care Act 1991 (Early Years Services) Regulations 2016
