Children were observed to sit on the ground by the book area reading. It is acknowledged that a mat was available in ECCE 2 area, and the Toddler room. The deputy obtained some cushions during the inspection. The rest area needs further development to meet the needs of the children - The following response was received from the registered provider: Corrective and Preventive Action New mats and cushions were added to the rest area. While rest areas were included within all of the care rooms, in the following rooms, these spaces were under furnished and required development, in order to adequately meet the children’s need for rest and relaxation: − Toddler room: the rest area consisted of a large floor mat. − Wobbler room: a large floor mat was available. − Junior Preschool 5: a book area was provided, however there were no adjacent soft furnishings or seating - The response submitted stated that, since the inspection, each of the named rooms have been adjusted and have upgraded their cosy areas. The stackable beds are stored in a storeroom alongside the Creche and there is a clearly labelled shelf for bedding material.
