This was in contrast with rest areas in other rooms in the service which contained cushions and other soft furnishings - Rest areas have been reviewed. Cushions and soft furnishings are part of the designated rest environment and are made available to support children’s comfort during rest times. Where cushions and soft furnishings are temporarily removed for activities or room use, staff ensure they are returned and the rest area is reset as part of the daily routine prior to rest times 19 March 2026 ##### [Claremount Early Learning and Childcare Centre Limited](/creche/claremount-early-learning-and-childcare-centre-limited-claremorris.md), Claremorris · Regulation 20 — Facilities for rest and play - Seven of the eight mattresses needed replacing in the sleep room. They were in poor condition and lumpy. They did not fit the cot base sufficiently or have a cover that was of waterproof material - Seven new mattresses have been ordered. The sleep room daily risk assessment has been updated to ensure that all staff are aware of the need to record any damage and make the manager aware. The manager will sign off on all risk assessment sheets. These will be stored in the office and any reported issues from the sheets will be logged and action taken in a timely manner 10 April 2026 ##### [The Three Little Bears](/creche/the-three-little-bears-dungarvan.md), Dungarvan · Regulation 20 — Facilities for rest and play - (a) The lack of a designed environment impacted on the experiences and care of the children attending in the Wobbler room. There was a limited amount of play materials in the children’s space, for example there was a rocking toy, an activity bench and a play bus in the room for the children. The toys were stored on high shelving in the room which was out of reach for the children. (b) There was no cosy area in the Wobbler room where children could access if they require time away from the main play area to rest or take a break - The registered provider stated that the room layout has been reviewed and it now caters for the children attending the facility.
