At 10:01am, one qualified staff member was present with 9 children. The children present were aged 2-3 years old and were being cared for on a full day care basis. Two qualified staff members were required - The registered provider has confirmed that at the time referred to in the inspection report, one educator was supporting a child with toilet training. On receipt of the report all employees were reminded that temporary toileting support should be called for. To prevent reoccurrence a review of the procedures took place. The procedures have been strengthened to ensure ratios are always met while continuing to meet children's individual care needs 12 March 2026 ##### [Snugglemuffins Montessori LTD](/creche/snugglemuffins-montessori-ltd-navan.md), Navan · Regulation 11 — Staffing levels - (1) The registered provider did not ensure that an adequate number of adults were working directly with the children attending the service. (3) On arrival to the service the inspector recorded that from 09:40am until 10am there was 1 staff member present with 13 children ranging in age from 2 years 3 months to 4 years 11 months attending the service on a sessional basis. The ratio for sessional service only is 1 staff member to 11 children and therefore a 2nd adult was required - (1)&(3) Due to weather conditions two staff were late. One staff member has left the service. A new staff member has now been employed. The registered provider will ensure that in the future the ratio of adults to children will be maintained in the service at all times. A Staff Absentee Policy is now in place for the service 11 March 2026 ##### [Sandys Creche and Montessori School](/creche/sandys-creche-and-montessori-school-dunshaughlin.md), Dunshaughlin · Regulation 11 — Staffing levels - (2) On the day of inspection there was not an adequate number of staff members working directly with the children attending the service as demonstrated by the following: • In the Toddler room there were 11 children aged 1 year 3 months to 1 year 11 months being cared for by 2 adults. Three adults were required to maintain the correct adult to child ratio - Corrective Action (2) Another staff member has been rostered to the room , so 3 staff members will be in the toddler room at all times. Preventive Action (2) Informing management when room is not within ratio 10 March 2026 ##### [Tots Creche Ruxton Oaks](/creche/tots-creche-ruxton-oaks-navan.md), Navan · Regulation 11 — Staffing levels - (1)In Pre-school Room, 1 although the adult/child ratios were met some of the children needed additional support, assistance and supervision during transitions. While queuing up to go outside children had to wait while other children were given assistance with outdoor clothing. Children became restless and started hitting each other. An additional staff member is required in this room to support the staff and children especially during times of transition - (1) The registered provider has looked at the transitions and support required by this room, the room has been split during ECCE hours, the smaller classrooms are calmer since we have done this. This has enabled the teacher to best support the children’s needs and keep the class routine in place. The Assistant manager is responsible for supporting the Preschool rooms during transitions, home time and when otherwise needed. The registered provider has further split this class to attend to the full day and have seen a great improvement since implementing this. An AIM teacher has been put in place for the children requiring this support, the service have introduced visuals in the class and have linked in with Betterstart regarding support information for transitioning. Recently, the registered provider had vetting come through for the new staff so this staff member has enabled more support throughout the building. The registered provider had a staff training night with all staff to discuss transitions and a further training night booked for the 12/05/2026. Preventive Action: The registered provider has implemented risk assessing each class to establish what support is required by each class or at certain times of day for transitions etc. and assigning support for the class, children and staff. This also enables the registered provider to assess any training that may be required by staff to best manage the class routine, recognising children’s additional/supportive needs and non-contact time for staff to source the visuals needed by individual children 3 March 2026 ##### [The Village Preschool Nobber](/creche/the-village-preschool-nobber-nobber.md), Nobber · Regulation 11 — Staffing levels - (8) The registered provider did not ensure that 2 adults were on the premises at all times while the service was in operation. Following a review of the staff rosters for weeks beginning 16 February 23rd February and 02 March 2026, and through discussion with the person in charge, it was determined that one adult cared for preschool children attending the service between 8am to 9am on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays - The Roster has been changed to ensure there are always 2 educators on the premises. Two educators will always be rostered regardless of the number of children in the school 26 February 2026 ##### [Happy Days Creche & Pre School](/creche/happy-days-creche-pre-school-rathmoylon.md), Rathmoylon · Regulation 11 — Staffing levels - (8) According to the staff roster two adults were not present on the premises at all times during the hours of operation. Only one staff member was rostered and confirmed present by staff between 9am and 9.30am, until the second childcare staff commenced work - The service acknowledges that the roster did not accurately reflect the full staffing presence at that time. To address this, the staff rostering system has been reviewed and updated. All staff present on the premises, regardless of their role, are now clearly recorded on the daily roster to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and to provide an accurate record for inspection purposes. This includes the designated person in charge will be present and reflected on the roster. The service will keep using the new roster reflecting all staff member present and their role in the premises during the day 7 October 2025 ##### [Lismullen Montessori](/creche/lismullen-montessori-navan.md), Navan · Regulation 11 — Staffing levels - (8)(c) The registered provider did not ensure that a second person familiar with the operation of the service and in a position to provide assistance to the person in charge is, at all times available to the service to assist in the event of an emergency - (8)(c) A second person who is available and familiar with the operation of the service, who lives in close proximity has been identified as the emergency person.
