Immediate action notice. An immediate action notice was issued to the service on 9/01/2026 in relation to

Regulation 9 — Management and recruitment

  • (2) (a)&(b)There were no references on file for one adult and evidence of validation of references was not available for one adult. (c) A garda vetting disclosure was not available for one adult who was working with the children. It is acknowledged that the manager of the service advised the office of the early year’s inspectorate on 13th of January that this person is no longer working in the service
Provider's corrective action:
  • The manager of the service submitted a written response to the office of the early years inspectorate to advise two references have been obtained for the adult, and these have been validated. As manager of the service, two references will be obtained and validated prior to a person been appointed in the service

Regulation 29 — Premises

  • (d) There was a very strong odour of stagnant water emanating from one of the toilet cubicles in the sanitary accommodation off the blue room which requires further investigation and remedial action to be taken to address the odour
Provider's corrective action:
  • The manager of the service submitted a written response to the office of the early years inspectorate to advise that a plumber has been in to rectify the issue and it will be monitored to ensure there are no malodours in this area

Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child

  • General Safety: 1. The doors to the staff sanitary area, the staff room, and office had no system of security posing a potential access/safety risk. Infection Control: 2. The mechanical ceiling vents in the children’s sanitary accommodation had evidence of dust and debris which could prevent them from operating effectively. Action submitted by the Registered Provider
Provider's corrective action:
  • General Safety: The person in charge submitted a written response on 4th of March to advise: 1. Locks were bought to secure the doors of the staff sanitary area, the staff room, and office and a staff notice issued and placed on staff notice board. Signage has been placed on the doors to ensure that anyone using these areas close and secure doors after leaving. Infection Control: 2. Dust was removed immediately, and vents cleaned. The ventilation systems have been added to general room cleaning sheets and building cleaning sheets
