Regulation 15 — Record of pre-school child
- (1) Out of the 21 children registered to attend the service, one child’s records as required at points (a) to (i) were not available
Provider's corrective action:
- (1) The child’s record card is on file. Going forward, we will ensure that all records are on file before children start
Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child
- General Safety: 1. Garda vetting was available for all four staff members. However, two staff members vetting disclosures were not dated within the previous three years in adherence to with the Early Years Inspectorate Regulatory Notice ‘EYI-RN12.3 Renewal of Garda Vetting’. Infection Control: 2. Items which pose an infection control risk to children including a pest control bait box and waste bins were accessible to children in the outdoor play area. These items pose a risk of infection should a child touch or tamper with them. Action submitted by the Registered Provider
Provider's corrective action:
- General Safety: 1. Renewal of Garda vetting has been applied for both staff members. A reminder has been set to check Garda vetting at the start of each year to ensure all staff have up to date vetting in place. Infection Control: 2. The bins have been moved to the front of the building along with bait box. The bins will be stored away from the entrance and the path that children use daily
