Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child
- Administration of Medication: 1. A review of documentation identified that the care plan for a child prescribed emergency medication had not been signed by either the parent or the manager. The absence of the required signatures meant there was no evidence that the care plan had been reviewed and agreed by the relevant parties, posing a potential risk to the child's safety and wellbeing in the event of a medical emergency. Action submitted by the Registered Provider
Provider's corrective action:
- Administration of Medication: 1. The parents of both children and the service manager have signed and reviewed the medical plan. Going forward no child will be allowed to start without a letter from a medical professional outlining the condition. A medical plan will be drawn up and signed off by the service manager and the parents
