#### Inspection of 8 June 2026 — Inspection Report

##### Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child

- General Safety: 1. On the inspectors arrival to the service the front door was unlocked which increased the risk of unauthorised entry to the service and to children leaving the service unsupervised. Infection Control: 2. In both care rooms the children’s snacks which they brought with them from home and contained meat and dairy produce were stored in their bags and not stored under refrigerated conditions. This increased the risk of bacteria multiplying to levels which could result in illness. Action submitted by the Registered Provider

- General Safety: 1. The magnet on the door has now been fixed; the mechanism has now been replaced. Staff will ensure that the front door is checked regularly throughout the day and remains locked at all times to prevent unauthorized entry or children leaving unsupervised. Infection Control: 2. Staff will ensure that all children’s snacks containing meat or dairy are placed in the refrigerator on arrival each day to maintain safe storage temperatures and reduce the risk of bacterial growth

##### Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child

- Infection Control: 1. Bins which were used for food and general contaminated waste were hand operated which increases the risk of cross contamination. Bins used for food and contaminated waste must be foot pedal operated to reduce this risk. 2. Perishable items including meat and dairy products provided by parents/guardians for the morning snack were stored in the children’s bags at room temperature rather than in a fridge. This increased the risk of bacteria multiplying to levels which could result in food poisoning. Action submitted by the Registered Provider

- Infection Control: 1.The bins have been replaced with foot pedal operated bins. The registered provider/manager will ensure that all bins containing food and general contaminated waste are foot pedal operated. 2.Children’s lunches that contain perishable items are now stored in a fridge. The registered provider/manager will monitor this practice on a daily basis
