Cork): what Tusla inspections found — 2 published inspection(s), non-compliances and the provider's corrective actions. ## Ready Steady Play Drop-In · 1 - 6 Years · Cork, Cork · Tusla ID **TU2015CC340** · Registered since 1 January 2026 An inspection records what inspectors saw **on one day**; services respond with corrective actions — [how to read this](/methodology.md). #### Inspection of 8 December 2025 — Inspection Report Full report (PDF, Tusla) **Immediate action notice.** During the onsite inspection on 8 December 2025, an Immediate Action Notice (IAN) was issued to the person in charge in relation to the non-compliance identified under Regulation 25. A response to the IAN was subsequently received on 9 December 2025 and was deemed adequate in mitigating the risk. Part III – Management and Staff ##### Regulation 9 — Management and recruitment - (3) While it was acknowledged that garda vetting had been obtained in respect of the newest staff member, it had not been obtained prior to the person being appointed, assigned or allowed access to or contact with a child attending the pre-school service - The registered provider stated that their practice has been amended to ensure that no staff member is allowed to begin in employment until Garda vetting is obtained ##### Regulation 11 — Staffing levels - (a) The registered provider failed to ensure there were at least two adults on the premises at all times. The inspectors arrived at the service at 10:15am and only one adult was present. This non-compliance was also found at last inspection of the service in April 2024 - The registered provider stated that two staff will be rostered on at all times ##### Regulation 25 — First aid - There was no adult with training in First Aid Response (FAR)on site when the inspectors arrived. It was acknowledged that the person in charge does hold a FAR certificate, however, the rosters demonstrated that there are days when there is no FAR trained adult available to the children. A further two staff members had training in paediatric first aid, but it was not ensured that one of these adults was always on the premises. This non-compliance was also found at last inspection of the service in April 2024. An IAN was issued for safety which was promptly responded to by the person in charge. The response stated that the deputy had been enrolled on a FAR course, and rosters had been amended to ensure that a person who was trained in first aid was always available to the children - The registered provider has enrolled another staff member on a FAR course and has ensured that at least one adult with FAR is rostered to be available to children at all times ##### Regulation 29 — Premises - (d) One of the toilets in the children’s sanitary facility was not maintained in proper working order and required repair. During the opening meeting, the person in charge advised that this toilet was out of order and that repair was awaited. It was subsequently observed that the toilet flush push button was missing from the toilet - No response received Found compliant: Regulation 19, 23, 24. #### Inspection of 2 April 2024 — Inspection Report Full report (PDF, Tusla) ##### Regulation 9 — Management and recruitment - (c) The management structure detailing the lines of accountability as to who was the deputy in the absence of the person in charge was not available on file or on display for the parents and guardians of children to refer to - (1)(c) The management structure detailing the lines of accountability as to who is the deputy and person in charge is now available ##### Regulation 11 — Staffing levels - (8)(a) There was only 1 adult on the premises when the inspector arrived on site at 10.15am. The requirement was not met as the regulations require that 2 adults are on the premises at all times. It was acknowledged that both the deputy and person in charge separately informed the inspector that a second adult had been rostered to be on duty at 10am but phoned in on sick leave - (8)(a) On the day of the inspection, 2 additional adults had arrived at the premises by 11.30am to work with the children. There were then 3 adults are on the premises ##### Regulation 25 — First aid - There was no adult with training in First Aid Response (FAR) attached to the service which did not meet the requirements.
