Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child
- Fire Safety: 1. The firefighting equipment and smoke alarm system last maintenance certificate was dated September 2022. An annual service as recommended had not been carried out. It is acknowledged that the principal in the school and person in charge in the preschool agreed to contact a competent person to service the firefighting equipment and the smoke alarm system as soon as possible. This could potentially cause a risk of safety to the preschool children. Action submitted by the Registered Provider
Provider's corrective action:
- Fire Safety: The school has appointed a new person who will come annually to check the school's equipment and fire alarms and the Naíonra to ensure that the annual service is up to date. The head teacher also has a checklist which she will have to do at the beginning of the year to remind her of the certificates that need to be renewed
