Inspection of 22 January 2026 — Inspection Report

Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child

  • Infection Control: 1. The corners of two vinyl couches, one in pre-school 1 and one in the montessori room were showing signs of wear and tear impairing the ability to clean them adequately to reduce the risk of cross infection. Administration of Medication: 2. There was no written parental consent for a child in receipt of medication in the baby room. Fire Safety: 3. There were 5 high feeding chairs stored on the corridor outside the baby and pre-school 1 rooms, posing a risk to children of not exiting the care rooms in the event of a fire and injury to children due to obstruction. Action submitted by the Registered Provider
Provider's corrective action:
  • Infection Control: 1. New soft seating has been ordered to replace each couch. Where possible, new seating will be ordered before it cracks. Administration of Medication: 2. The staff have been reminded to check the medication forms are signed and completed properly. Each room Leader is now responsible for getting the consent form signed, a medicine book is now in place for each room. Fire Safety: 3. The highchairs have been removed from the corridor and are stored in the art room. The staff have been reminded not to leave the highchairs in the corridor

Regulation 29 — Premises

  • (d) 1. An internal gate dividing the outdoor play areas was not closing fully. 2. There was a split in the corner of the concrete wall in the outdoor play area
Provider's corrective action:
  • 1. The gate has been repaired and re-installed. 2. The area of the wall was filled and plastered

Regulation 9 — Management and recruitment

  • 1. Police vetting was not on file for 1 adult who had lived outside of the jurisdiction for a period of longer than 6 consecutive months
Provider's corrective action:
  • The staff member has applied for the required Police vetting, it will be forwarded to the inspectorate on receipt of same. Staff will not be employed until the police clearance has been received

Regulation 11 — Staffing levels

  • (1) An adequate number of staff were not working with children in the Junior pre-school room in the afternoon of the inspection. There was 1 adult working with 10 children, 2 children aged between 2 and 3 years and 8 children aged between 3 years and 5 years. (2) The minimum number of staff were not working with 10 children aged between 2 years and 5 years in the junior pre-school room in the afternoon of the inspection
Provider's corrective action:
  • (1) & (2) There were 3 staff members on leave, 1 on sick leave for the day and 2 on annual leave for the week

Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child

  • General Safety: 1. Medication belonging to a child attending the Montessori room was stored in the child’s bag on a low- level hook outside the childcare room at the entrance to the sanitary accommodation, posing a risk of injury to children. Infection Control: 2. The upholstery covering on the adult seating on the low-level child seat in the Baby room was stained posing a risk of cross infection. Action submitted by the Registered Provider
Provider's corrective action:
  • General Safety: 1. The medication is no longer required to be taken home each day; a second prescription was obtained to supply the service with the medication which can now be stored in the office at all times. A child will require to have any medication required to be kept on the premise stored in the office. Infection Control: 2. The seat cover had been previously removed and washed; the stains remained. The seat was disposed. If stains remain on items after washing them, they will be disposed of immediately
