##### Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child

- Administration of Medication: 1. While staff were familiar with the medical needs of two children and the procedures to follow in terms of emergency treatment, no care plans were available to support this. This poses a risk to the safety of children in the event of a medical emergency. Fire Safety: 2. A review of documentation evidenced that fire drills are not occurring monthly in the service. The last recorded fire drill was documented to have taken place on 10 December 2024. Not practising regular fire drills can hinder the safe evacuation of children and staff in the event of an emergency. Action submitted by the Registered Provider

- Administration of Medication: A team meeting was held to discuss the importance of having care plans in place for all children with allergies or medical needs. A copy of the care plans not available on the day of inspection are now displayed on the wall in the care room. All staff are aware of the procedures to follow in the event of an emergency. To prevent a reoccurrence of this non-compliance, the medication policy has now been updated to include health care plans. One staff member will be responsible for assessing new application forms and linking in with parents/guardians should a care plan be required to be in place. Fire Safety: Fire drills have now been completed as required since inspection. A team meeting was held to discuss the importance of completing these monthly. A fire drill timetable has been displayed as to when the fire drills will take place each month going forward
