##### Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child

- General Safety: Perishable food items from the children’s snack and main meal were not stored in a fridge. They were kept in the children’s bags and stored at the room temperature of 19.5 °C taken at 12:50 pm on the day of inspection. Children were in attendance in the service from 9:00 am and the perishable food items were served at 12:45 pm. This is longer than the recommended limit of two hours unrefrigerated. This posed a risk to the safety of the children. Action submitted by the Registered Provider

- General Safety: A new fridge has been purchased and will be used in ECCE 2 for the storage of children’s perishable food items. The children from ECCE 1 will have their perishable food items stored in the fridge in the kitchen. The healthy eating policy has been updated to reflect this change and all staff have been informed of this update
