General Safety: 1. Garda vetting was available for two named staff members. However, these vetting disclosures were not dated within the previous three years in adherence to with the Early Years Inspectorate Regulatory Notice ‘EYI-RN12.3 Renewal of Garda Vetting’. It was acknowledged that applications for the outstanding Garda Vetting were submitted on the 07/02/2025. Infection Control: 2. It was observed on the day that the baby room sleep room was used a storage area for a number of items, including cleaning items, bouncers and play equipment from the adjoining playroom. It was noted on the day that baby room was emptied as it was not in use and the toys/equipment were left in cots and on the floor in the sleep room. This practice may pose a risk of cross infection. Action submitted by the Registered Provider The registered provider stated the following in their reply:

Provider's corrective action:

General Safety: The renewal forms for the Garda vetting were submitted for three staff members. Two of the three applications have been returned. There was a delay on the third application and this staff member will not be working in the service until this vetting disclosure is returned. In the future, there will be bi-annual review on all Garda vetting disclosure dates. Infection Control: All items stored in the baby sleep rooms have removed and this room is no longer be used to storage such items

(1) There was a change in the name of the registered provider and the registered provider did not notify Tusla of this change. It is acknowledged that the change of circumstance application has been made to the Early Years Registration office

Provider's corrective action:

The registered provider stated the following in their reply: Corrective and Preventive Action The application to amend the name of the register provider was submitted to the Early Years registration office. To ensure this non-compliance does not reoccur, there will be a bi-annual review of all documentation

Basic Needs. 1. In the nappy changing area, there were no dividers between the nappy changing units to ensure that each child’s dignity was respected at nappy changing. This nappy changing unit is used by the Nursery and the Toddler room. 2. A baby under the age of 12 months in Nursery playroom was observed asleep on a mat on the floor of the nursery. It is acknowledged that the baby was just settling into the creche but this practice was in variance to the service safe sleep policy that was available for inspection. Which stated that all children under the age of 2 years will be put down to sleep in a standard cot

Provider's corrective action:

The registered provider stated the following in their reply: Corrective and Preventive Action 1. We are awaiting to install partitions in the nappy changing area, in the interim , only one child will be changed at a time to ensure the dignity of the child is respected. 2. The baby is sleeping in a standard cot in the dedicated sleep room, all staff and parents are made aware of the service’s safe sleep policy. Summary Comment The actions were reviewed and the non-compliances identified under regulation 19 have been adequately addressed

Infection Control: 1. Powdered infant formula for the young children in the Nursery room was prepared on the premises by the staff and not prepared in accordance with the Food Safety Authority best practice guidance. Fire Safety: 2. The corridor leading to the emergency exit was used for storage, four open storage units which contained children’s coats and bags lined the fire exit corridor which posed a risk in the event of a fire

Provider's corrective action:

The registered provider submitted the following in their reply: Corrective & Preventive Action Infection Control: 1. Parents are informed of current guidelines re formula within the setting and will send in freshly prepared, chilled bottles each day and bottles are sent home each evening. Fire Safety: 2.The corridor was cleared of all storage units and will no longer been used for storage
