General Safety: 1. No temperature-reducing medication was available in the service if it was needed. This could prevent a child receiving this medication in a timely manner if it was needed. 2. The outdoor area at the back of the house was at a higher level than the ground floor of the house and was accessed using three steps located approximately one metre from the back door. A wooden support beam, which supported an outdoor cover, was accessible to the children from a lower wall. The children are permitted and supervised to climb the lower wall, but the access to a support beam provided opportunity for a child to climb to a higher retaining wall and increased the risk of a fall and consequent injury

Provider's corrective action:

Corrective & Preventive Action General Safety: 1. Two bottles of temperature reducing medication has been bought and will be stored safely. One will be accessible for the Big Beans room and the second will be accessible for the Little Beans room. We will keep a written record noting the expiry dates of the medication. We will we also ensure to replace each bottle once expired or if the levels have diminished considerably. 2. We have constructed an extension of plastic panelling to the support beam-ensuring that the wall cannot be accessed by any children whilst safely manoeuvring along the lower wall. We will ensure that the plastic panelling is securely attached to the support beams at all times and we will do weekly checks to ensure that the panelling is secure
