Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child

  • General Safety: 1. The radiator cover in the preschool room was not secured with the potential risk of injury to a child. Infection Control: 2. The couch had evidence of being frayed and torn thereby preventing effective cleaning. Action submitted by the Registered Provider
Provider's corrective action:
  • General Safety: The manager of the service submitted a written response to the office of the early year’s inspectorate to state 1. The radiator cover in the preschool room has been secured and additional checks will be carried out daily to ensure the radiator covers are secure. Infection Control: 2. The couch has been repaired to enable effective cleaning and staff have been advised to check materials to ensure they are covered to enable effective cleaning

Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child

  • General safety 1. It was noted that a ceramic tile was broken on the step to the front entrance of the premises which could pose a potential safety concern. Infection Control: 2. The temperature of the hot water was low at 19.2°C in the children’s sink in the sanitary area to enable effective hand washing. 3. In the outdoor area, there were soft shapes with evidence of being frayed and torn thereby preventing effective cleaning. Action submitted by the Registered Provider
Provider's corrective action:
  • General Safety: The person in charge submitted a written response on 13th of September 2024 to advise 1. The ceramic tile at the front entrance of the premises has been removed and replaced with a wooden step and the step has been changed to a wooden one to prevent any future breakages. Infection Control: 2. The thermostat has been turned up and the water is at the correct temperature and the manager has advised the staff to carry out daily checks in the morning and afternoon session on the water temperature in the children’s toilet. 3. The soft shapes with frayed edges have been covered to allow staff to clean effectively, the soft foam shapes have been added to the outdoor safety check list and the staff have been advised to carry out weekly checks on these
