Regulation 9 — Management and recruitment

  • (7)(a) Documentation was not available to demonstrate that on completion of each staff members self-appraisal form a review meeting was held with a senior manager to discuss their progress and future learning goals as outlined in the service policy on recruitment and staff support policy
Provider's corrective action:
  • (7)(a) In response to the non-compliances the registered provider has stated that measures have been put in place to ensure every staff member has time allocated to attend and engage with self-appraisal meetings with management. This will be achieved through staff rosters, better time management and a review of procedure

Regulation 16 — Record in relation to pre-school service

  • (k) A sample of 25 accident and incident records were reviewed and were observed to not have the following information recorded. • Three forms did not record the child’s date of birth. • Two forms did not include the date of the accident/ incident and the date the form was completed. • Three forms did not include the parent’s signature, and ten forms did not include the date the parent signed the form
Provider's corrective action:
  • (k) In response to the non-compliance the registered provider has stated that staff attended a team meeting after the inspection June 4th where the practice of recording of accidents and incidents was refreshed with everyone. Procedures for recording accidents and Incidents will be added regularly to team meetings and management will ensure forms are filled in correctly with all relevant information

Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child

  • General Safety: 1. A Garda vetting disclosure that was available for one staff member was not dated within the previous three years in adherence to with the Early Years Inspectorate Regulatory Notice ‘EYI-RN12.3 Renewal of Garda Vetting’. Action submitted by the Registered Provider
Provider's corrective action:
  • General Safety: 1. In response to the non-compliance the registered provider has stated that the garda vetting has been renewed. Management will ensure garda vetting renewal is completed in a timely fashion as per policy
