Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child
General Safety: 1. One staff members garda vetting disclosure was not dated within the previous three years in adherence to the Early Years Inspectorate Regulatory Notice ‘EYI-RN12.3 Renewal of Garda Vetting’. Infection Control: 2. Perishable items in children’s lunch boxes were not refrigerated. This increases the risk of bacterial growth in these food items
Provider's corrective action:
Corrective & Preventive Action General Safety: 1.Garda vetting has been sought for this staff member. The registered provider will ensure that all garda vetting’s are renewed every 3 years. Infection Control: 2.The lunches will be stored in the fridge available in the kitchen. All staff have been informed, and the registered provider will ensure that this practice is continued on a daily basis
Immediate action notice. An Immediate Action Notice was issued under Regulation 23, in relation to the non-compliance identified under Regulation 25. A response was received from the registered provider which indicated that training had been scheduled.

Where the registered provider fails to meet the statutory requirements an escalation process may be commenced.
Regulation 25 — First aid
(1) There was no adult present on the day of inspection who held a First Aid Responder (FAR)training certificate. This posed a risk to the safety of the children if first aid was required. An Immediate Action Notice was issued to the registered provider under Regulation 23-Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child in relation to this non-compliance
Provider's corrective action:
(1) First aid responder training has been booked for the following dates 16th, 23th and 30th of July 2024 for the registered provider. The remainder of the staff will complete paediatric first aid training before the pre -school re- opens in September 2024.The registered provider will ensure that 1 staff member is always on duty with FAR training while the service is in operation on a daily basis
